This much-loved restaurant at Llanddewi Skirrid, just outside Abergavenny, is now open as a joint venture between William Griffiths, of The Angel Hotel, and Shaun Hill (pictured right). They worked together some years ago at Shaun's restaurant, The Merchant House, in Ludlow which had a Michelin star, and 8/10 in the Good Food Guide.

The Walnut Tree offers good food and wine at comfortable prices, in an informal setting. The menu is an eclectic mix, based on personal taste and sound cooking techniques, rather than any particular country's cuisine. A unifying feature is excellent ingredients, carefully chosen, local where feasible.

The Walnut Tree Inn is open Tuesday to Saturday for lunch (Noon - 2.30pm) and for dinner (7.00 - 10.00pm). Some tables are not bookable so there is always the chance to eat at the last moment. For more, click below to....
