We have a useful addition to our accommodation portfolio - The Lodge. Abergavenny Castle is only a few hundred yards from the rear of the hotel. At the Castle entrance gate is The Lodge which now forms part of the hotel. There is a delightful sitting room, bathroom (with shower), and small kitchen on the ground floor; and upstairs, two double rooms. Plus outside there is a small private courtyard, with views to the Blorenge mountain. It is available as a single booking for up to four guests, at £240 per night - including breakfast. (Three guests: £185; two: £150; one: £100).

The Lodge is non-smoking.

There is full chambermaid service, but otherwise it is a separate unit. This does mean a three-minute walk over to the hotel for breakfast and other meals. As the Lodge is physically apart from the hotel, there is minimal room service available (and shoe-shine!). But there is a small kitchen where you can prepare drinks. Note too, there is no direct hotel telephone. For those who fancy something a little different, and more independent, it's perfect.
